Kennel Club of Greece CACIB Show - Greece

FIDDLE-STICK’S AIR FORCE ONE, an American Cocker from Sweden was the Nr One Dog of the second day of the double CACIB Show organized by the Kennel Klub of Greece on 6-7th of October 2007. Bred and owned by Susanne Sodeberg, this swedish competitor, won the BIS title by Mr Dondina (Italy) (BOG winner by the same judge), and the podium Nr.1, followed by the russian bred and owned (Mrs.Vlasova A.) black Giant Schnauzer Ch. Rus. Dgently Bon Never Give Up (BOG winner by Mr.Huidobro).
BIS 3 was the Yorkshire Terrier Ch. Slo. Qoccle's The Sense Of Wonder (BOG winner by Mr. Dondina) bred and owned by Mrs. Pollini from Italy, and at the 4th place, BIS 4, "our" "CJ", or ARYAKAS COSMO JUNIOR (BOG winner by Mr Huidobro), Bobtail bred in Greece (Mr. Kanales N) and owned by Mr.Kanales(GR) and Mrs E.Antl (A). Cosmo Junior or CJ, was the BOB winner at Crufts and was the chosen one to represent Greece at the Eukanuba World Challenge.
485 entries from Greece, Cyprus and abroad were the competitors for the four top podiums -places of that nice and well organized International show, held again next to the Olympic Equestrian Center in Marcopoulo of Attica very close to Athens.
Wonderful weather, plenty of space for people and dogs, and of course the Greek Spirit, were the elements of the success of the show.
Invited judges were Mr. P. Dondina (I), Mr. E. Engh (NOR), Mr. Huidobro (E), Mr. Kapetanakos P. (GR), Mr. Karagiannis N. (GR), Mr. Kostopoulos G. (GR), Mr. Z. Kupferberg (ISR), Mr. Mast R. (D), Mrs. Nagler Magal Y. (ISR), Mrs. Skoura M. (GR) and last but not least Mr. Zoras T. (GR).
Besides the usual program at the Finals, the Kennel Clubof Greece has organized the competition for the Eukanuba World Challenge Show, and has invited the allrounder judges to the main ring, to select one dog (and a second, reserve one) to represent our country in California.
The Winner was the Bobtail CH. ARYAKAS COSMO JUNIOR, BIS winner the day before (2 days - CACIBs). Greek bred and Austrian - Greek co-owned, "CJ" is a son of the magnificent multi winner CH.REATA'S COSMOPOLITAN (bred by Mr.Davor and BOB winner at Crufts 2006), and was BOB winner at Crufts this year.
Second dog - reserve ambassador of Greece for the E.W.C. shiw was CH. SERENDIPITY YOU ARE MY PAW, Golden Retriever, bred by Mrs. Kammenou and owned by her and Mrs. Liosi. This bitch was also RBOG at the first day of this double International Show.
As in every Greek show, a special competition has taken place, and this was the competition for the Best of Greek Breeds Winner. After the Greek Hound, the second Greek breed to be approved by the FCI is the Cretan Hound, the ancient breed from Crete, a breed with several thousand years of history, transported to all ports of the Mediterranean Sea by the Cretan sailors, where it transmitted its genes to many of the modern hound breeds. This breed is now to be among the breeds of Group 5.
So except the Greek Hound, the Crean Hound, three other breeds are regognized by the Kennel Club of Greece, the White Hellenic Shepherd Dog, the Molossus of Epirus and the Kokoni.
